Spring is Here! :)

I will finally admit that Spring has finally found its way to Lloydminster. I admit that because yesterday it got into the double digits and today is suppose to as well!

IT'S SPRING! :)

I can see my front yard. I can see my backyard. There are buds on the trees. Birds chirping away. Still waiting on seeing that robin though.

Daniel even broke out the BBQ a few nights ago to make some steaks. :) and Then again last night to make burgers. :) Ahhh the smell of a BBQ.

It's even nice enough to start going on walks again! :) and you don't have to bundle up with toques and boots and gloves and the works. The wind still gets a little chilly but I can live with that.

Just some things we've found on our walks:

Spring is so lovely. Oh how I've missed it! 6 months of winter was far too long! I for one am not going to complain when it gets hot. I'll just remember this endless winter that we had. And the sad fact that winter is closer then it seems. (oh the joys of living north)

But as it is. I'm going to enjoy this Spring that is here. And the fact that it means my baby is closer to coming!  Yay for Spring!

Speaking of baby. . . . Tycy had her baby 4 weeks early. Amie had hers right on the due date. I hope that doesn't mean my child will be the stubborn one. As of May 1 if you see me doing anything crazy don't judge to harshly. I'll just be trying to go into labor. :)

Baby's Room = ALL DONE!

Well I did it!
Baby's room is complete and ready for him to come and occupy it!
I am quite proud of it. Probably the craftiest thing I've ever done. I just need to hang pictures and shelves and the room is really done. But I probably won't get around to taking pictures of it. So we will just call this done.
Let's appreciate the work I put into this!

So the room is all done and ready to go! Oh and that rocker that you see. . got it for $18! WOOT WOOT! talk about steal of a deal. So as I said just gotta hang some pictures and the shelves and it's all ready to go! woot!

37 weeks down and 3 to go! :)

PS.(just because I'm proud of this) My belly button hasn't popped yet! :) haha Can't decide if it wants to  or not! It's pretty awesome! depending on where baby sits it half pops out. Then he moves and it's back to "normal"

Date Night!

It all started when I went walking yesterday and they were setting up some gymnastics stuff. It kinda looked like there was going to be a competition going on or something exciting like that. So I asked around found out what I needed to know and texted Daniel seeing if he'd come with me. He said only if he could take me out to dinner. (DONE!)
So we went out to KC Steakhouse. Yummy! Ordered some delicious food. Daniel even broke the pepper shaker and made a mess all over the table with the peppercorns. And had cheesecake for dessert! Could the night get any better? Not really.
But then we went to the gymnastics thing at the servus sports center  It was pretty cool! Some of the kids were so young and yet here they are just doing back flips on balance beams and spinning around on the uneven bars. It was pretty intense. I was impressed. Even Daniel liked it. He said he could maybe see his daughters doing that. (haha we'll see) Once the gymnastics ended there was hockey going on at the ice rinks so we had to go check it out just so Daniel could get some of his manhood back. (even though it was girls hockey. . . which moves a lot slower than guys) But we just stayed for 5 minutes and then he went and talked to the ref's (cause he knows them all). And then we headed home.

Just a simple nothing to it kinda of date night. I liked it! One of the few we have left until baby arrives.

Waiting

Alrighty. We're down to the wire here people. 3 1/2 weeks left. Where did all that time go?

I never thought that Spring would arrive. While some people say it hasn't yet, the fact that I can see my entire front lawn and the back is now making a special debut and there's the odd green blade of grass I  can say Spring has finally come. So now that Spring is here I gotta start admitting that its time for baby to arrive. (maybe in another week or two still)

Had my 36 week check up. All is well. Baby head down. (and measuring average baby size!) Hopefully no huge child right at first. I'm fine if he chunks up after but not before his exit. I mean really. . 10 cm isn't that big. just saying.
At the end of the appointment Dr said, well I'll see ya in a week. . or sooner. GULP! cause I guess technically it's all fair game now.

Haven't even really experienced braxton hicks. Or I have and I'm just to oblivious to it. (I'd go with the later)

So here's to waiting. It eventually will come.

(Sorry this is all mumbo jumbo but if you've been pregnant before you know where my brain is at better then I do.)

Adventures All Around

What a crazy last few days! A lot was accomplished! We managed to:

• end the hockey season
• get a new niece
• spend time with family

Let's start with hockey. Daniel went to a final tournament down in Wainwright April 4-7. (Blissful 3 nights sleep for me) He was a linesman for the tournament and did really well overall. (which means more and better hockey next year. :P ) After hearing about his weekend. . . lets just saw men never fully grow up. Oh the pranks I heard about. Glad he had a good time!

I was on my way to Wainwright to pick him up when I got a call from my Mom saying that Tycy had had her baby 4 weeks early! haha So now I have a niece and a nephew that share the same birthday! That makes my life easier! (I even brought my carseat down south with us. just in case. thank goodness we didn't need it. . just yet. :) )

My sisters Family! :) yes tyc i borrowed them from FB.

After I got Daniel we headed to Magrath to spend some time with my family, my Grandpa Parker passed away. Not my favorite reason to come home but I was glad for the chance to spend some time with my family and just remember how truly blessed I am to have such a wonderful family! I am grateful to all my grandparents who have created such a wonderful family for me to be a part of! Grandpa Parker was a wonderful example to me of living the gospel and loving life. I will miss him and his teasing but I am also grateful for the knowledge that he is reunited with his wife and together they are bringing joy to people's lives.  

While we were down there I snatched Phoenix and we took some pictures for her for her Grad Invites. I have one Beautiful sister! I can't believe that she is graduating this year! Time is just flying by! Hopefully I can actually make it to her Grad. . on May 17. We will see how baby cooperates with that. . . haha

I totally added the 2013.. . I wish Magrath's grain elevators were that cool though!

And lets see what else. . . oh I hit 35 weeks pregnant! Still feeling great.... my hips are starting to bug me. . And I'll finally admit I do have the preggo waddle right now. . (awesome) Less then 5 weeks till this baby comes! :)

34 weeks

How far along? 34 weeks. 6 left!!!!!!!!!! (let's be real. . I'm counting down now not up!)

Maternity Clothes? Yes. . though I did discover a few of my own shirts I can still wear that aren't Daniels. But I'm not going to wear them because I will need something to fit back into after baby!

Not so good moment this week? Nope nothing. It's been a good busy week! ON MAT LEAVE!

Miss anything?  My body. Not having to pee every hour or so.

Movement? ha! when isn't there.. right now. :) he's sleeping. give him 10 minutes and it'll be a boxing match or something. Mind you he likes to move around more when Dad is around too.

Gender? boy!

Food cravings? no not really. I'm so sick of food some days. Eating is more a chore then anything. BLAH! I hate thinking of dinner ideas. I could live off of apples though I'm sure. 

Anything make you queasy or sick? when I wait to long to eat. Walking into the bathroom after Daniel has been in there. :) (oops threw him under the bus again!)

Emotions?  is tired an emotion? haha other then that I'm good. And I'm only tired by the end of the day. 

Looking forward too?  going on a walk in the spring weather that is coming with my lil man. and my big man too. And taking pictures of my new baby with my new camera! :) Gotta get some practice in with it.... any volunteers?

Easter Weekend

I already told you all about Friday and the work we got done around the house for baby.

Saturday we woke up nice and early and went into Edmonton to go to the temple. It was wonderful. It had been a while since we had gone. And now this is probably the last time for a while due to baby making his appearance in 6 weeks. It was lovely! I miss living only 30 mins from the temple. 2 1/2 hours isn't really bad either...but it still qualifies a whole day trip into the city.
After the temple we went to Olive Garden. YUM! And didn't have to pay thanks to some gift certificates that we had from an early escapade to Olive Garden.
Then we went and bought a stroller and carseat. That just shows how close this baby is to coming. So weird.  I can't really fully wrap my head around it. Then we figured we'd head home. . . after we stopped at Future shop just to look around.
We've been wanting to get a new camera for a while. . . and we got one. . . now I just need to figure it out and we'll have some sweet pictures. . . plus a baby to put in them. :)
Once we  got home we spent some time playing with our new toys. (mine is the camera.... Daniel gets the stroller and carseat. :P )
the stroller and carseat are fun to figure out. . i'm sure we'll be pro's with them After baby comes and we have to use them all the time.
Oh yeah. driving to Edmonton our car hit a nice number of KM's.

sweet hey?

Sunday we did church in Lloyd and then headed up to St. Paul for dinner with my Aunt and Uncle. Turned into a bigger shi bang with a few more faces. It was fun. Lots of good food. We left later then we planned. . . that's typically what happens. Especially when Daniel and my uncle start talking guns and hunting stories. :P
But we left with still enough daylight on the horizon. We're just driving along, talking and watching the road when all the sudden  we hear this bang bang bang bang bang coming from outside our car. I knew it was a tire. I thought it had blown up. Daniel stopped and I jumped out to look fearing the worst. (when we bought this car 4 months ago we had practically brand new tires on the car) But nothing was wrong. So I went closer to investigate and this is what I found.

Can ya guess what that is?

A stupid evil mean bungee cord. Yes you read that correctly. A BUNGEE CORD! of all the things to run over and ruin your tires, bungee cord was not high on the list. And of all the big oil trucks that drive that road and we're the ones to hit it. (really?)
Luckily there was as shop a hop skip and a jump down the road that Daniel went to to borrow a hack saw. We cut it off. Left what was in the tire in there. and drove home. Now I gotta take it in so that someone can patch my tire.
At least we got a good laugh out of it.
