Basement

When we bought this house it had an unfinished basement. We started planning and scheming right away on how we wanted the basement. My mom has this cool app on her iPad that she can draw up blueprints and such. So away we went and finally came up with what we want.

We started early June with the framing. We'll I didn't. Dan, his brothers and his Dad did. They got all the framing done in an afternoon and shortly after my Dad came and started the electrical work. (My mother and sisters helped of course).

Once we got all that done and revamped the bathroom a little bit we scheduled a weekend to hang drywall. (Thank you Greg and Dallas). This was in July and August we got all the drywall done. I even had to help. Oh that was painful. But it was so awesome to get done!!!

Sean loved helping out!

Then we had Dave come and fix all the mess we made drywalling with his expert skills in mudding and taping. He got that all done in 3 weekends. So if you ever want someone to mud and tape let us know! He's awesome!

The second he was done we began priming and painting. Dan and I did all the priming and then my mom came out for two days and we got all the painting done. That was exhausting!

Once the painting was done it was finally beginning to look like we had something downstairs! The wait for the carpet felt like the longest in my life! (Next to the couch wait).
After painting we waited two and a half weeks for the carpet!

October was a good month because everything was done enough we moved into the basement!

We still have doors to hang, trim to put up and the finish work around the windows,The bathroom, and shelves for my storage room.

So yes there is still work to do but hey! We have a basement and the house feels so much roomier!!! Sean is a huge fan of the basement!

Halloween!

This year was Sean's first year trick or treating.
It was quite a success I would say and fun for all of us. The weather even cooperated. How rarely does that happen?

I am not typically a Halloween person but this year was quite fun. Though next year I won't buy so much candy for trick or treaters because I can still use both hands to count who showed up. Fun fun!

Here are the pictures of all our fun!
