This. This has taken me 8 months to get this far. Ridiculous. I know there are some of you that can do these puzzles in a day *cough*Phoenix*cough*.
I was really on a roll for a while. Until I hit this last section that is a rock wall. I mean take a look at it again. I have maybe 100 pieces left. And I can manage a piece/half hour. It used to be about 10/half hour. I'm no math geek but I know that's a significant drop.
So this is for my dear sister phoenix:
GET YOUR BUTT UP HERE AND HELP ME FINISH THIS PUZZLE! I'M GOING INSANE!
thanks a lot.

Spring is in the Air
So I don't know what the rest of you are experiencing weather wise in your respective elements but up here in Lloydminster is has been quite springy. (I really think it's becoming the new "southern alberta" with the lack of winter and random weather changes.)
I finished my four day week at practicum and got to spend Friday sleeping in (HA!) shopping (spending all Dan's money :) ) and then cleaning out the "hockey room" PEWHEW!! It filled with a lot of crap. but it's been de junked and we now actually have that third bedroom back! :)
Which leaves us to our last BIG Spring project.... the lawn.. (dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn)
Now this picture barely gives the yard the justice it deserves. I mean it was N-A-S-T-Y! So windblown over it looked like a nice comb over. Once raked... well you can see. Lets just say in some spots I'm sure I could have laid down and entered a whole new world. It came up to my knee! (Shay you woulda been GONE!) Anyway we went out and got ourselves a nice new Lawn Mower and rake. ( Keep in mind.. we have no idea when this lawn was last mowed.) We proceeded to attack the lawn.
I mean we was really fighting for our lawn here. the poor thing.
Can ya see the difference. The left side is mowed. the right isn't... I tell ya we thought we were fighting a losing battle. Dan's allergies kicked in and Grass was blowing everywhere thanks to the wind (I tell ya the new Southern Alberta).
Nevertheless we persisted.
Hacking away
(See there I am. Bet you were wondering where I was in all this. tehe. Well someone had to take the pictures. :P I helped too. But no one took pictures of me. Cause I work hard all the time. It's just such a rare event for Daniel I had to capture a lot of images. :P )
Well anyway. We finally conquered the yard two hours later. Dust in our eyes and ears and nose and other areas that just probably shouldn't be mentioned on a blog.

Gross hey? No worries we'll be better then the last occupants and keep the lawn up to date.

4 day week :)
So just an update for all of you that our kinda lost as to what is happening in The Fyfe Life.
I have entered my last practicum!!! :) Graduation is only weeks away! It is going lovely! Love the school I am in and have already gotten several comments that I need to get on the Sub List ASAP. :) Already passed my mid term and got flying colors. (yes i'm bragging i know.. but I am Proud. :)) I guess some teachers had said that I need to go back and get my teaching degree. We'll just have to wait and see about that. I am done with being in school for a while. I am happy to just be able to work and help others.
Daniel is busy busy working for Viterra. So far it is quite a good job. He likes it and comes home happy so I am happy. Makes for quite the happy life. Hockey season has finished! Daniel may be sad but I am quite happy about that.I get my husband back for a while... at least until rugby season and lacrosse season start up. I better find more hobbies to occupy my life.
As for the rest of the family Thelma/Debra is doing wonderful we finally got her all fixed up so we have no more problems with her. Just need to replace a windshield. (after all the rocks are mostly gone). Stanley had a 'bout of sickness there in my second week of practicum. (just like he did in my first practicum). So my lovely neighbors drove and picked me up from school. Saturday they took a better look at it and Stanley decided he was feeling better and has been running beautifully since. (hopefully they stay that way) (knock on wood).
I can't really think of anything else. Our life is a calm one. relatively unexciting. I'm sure it will get there one day. :)
Adios!
ps Easter holidays start on FRIDAY! (hence the 4 day week)
Anyone got ideas as to what I should do??

Oh Adventure!
Take a look at this beauty!!!
Wonderful isn't it?
Well to start off this story I need to go back about oh... two months. I was home one lovely Wednesday when the weather up here was -50 and worse. So I took a cold day from school and stayed home and made some banana bread. My house starting smelling all wonderful. As the timer went off I stuck a toothpick in and it wasn't done. The outside was all nice and brown but the inside was gooey! so I left them in longer. But they just kept getting darker and darker and goeyier and goeyier. (how this happens is beyond me). Well to make a long story short I burnt the banana bread. Now if you know me well you know I happened to be a decent cook and don't normally have the pleasure of ruining anything I bake. So this was a first to me. I was quite upset and wondering how I could hide the mess so that Daniel would never know and so that I would not get mocked by him. Lets just admit it... he is a big tease. And this event had torture all over it. So I chucked the loaf of bread and left the muffins on the counter. oops. and Daniel came and asked why I had hockey pucks on the counter. (ingenious I know.) He had that little sparkle in his eye that let me know he was teasing me. So I told him that I quit and am never making banana anything again! The End.Wonderful isn't it?
The Second Story:
We are now back to about a week ago. Daniel was making dinner while I was getting some homework done. He took the last toblerone bar and was eating it. (Rude cause he got them for me. :) ) Well my friend Kari called and asked me to come help her with Luke for a minute. So I snuck into the kitchen and while his back was turned I took the toblerone back. (lets face it. It was rightly mine) As I grabbed this bar of goodness I heard a WOOOOSH. I gasped and jumped back checking over my arm and coat to make sure i wasn`t on fire. (i was paranoid) Well nothing looked to outta place so I skipped on over to Kari`s. Two minutes later i get this call from Daniel,
`RING RING RING RING RING
I:" Hey what do you want?"
D: " The Stove is on Fire."
I:" What?? on fire? What did you do? There is an extinguisher by the dryer"
D:" It's just on fire."
I;" Fire extingusher..."
D: " Ya i know."
I:"Well put it out. Turn the stove off."
(We have a gas stove. And keep in mind here Daniel is being really calm and I am just a little worried. And Kari is running around the background hunting for her extinguisher)
D;"Ya its out now. But the stove is smoking."
I;" I am on my way."
So i ran to the house which is literally a hop skip and a jump away from Kari's. As I ran i called Head Office to tell them. They put in a work order but that was all they could do till the following Day.)
I got inside and the stove was smoking. Not a ton but it smelt like something in the house that had burnt. We finsihed Dinner at Kari's.
The next day I was told we were getting a brand new stove but not until Monday. On Tuesday it was finally installed and ready to go. SO NICE! Do you need to see it again?
It's a beauty. and the other day i made these!!!! COMPLETELY PERFECT! No burns gooeyness. . . nothing. Just utter PERFECTION!
Oh yeah. Yum Yum. I think I might break that promise I made and continue making Banana flavored goodness. :)

Weekend Get-Away :)
Daniel and I have decided that we love vacations. One every six months is so not enough. Probably not realistic to go away every month but oh how I wish we could. Maybe once we retire :)
So anyway this weekend we went down to Uncle Tony's cabin. One of the best places in the world that's for sure. Who doesn't love the mountains and snow with the perfect cabin tucked away in all that? So relaxing.
We left Lloydminster on Thursday and spent the night with Dan's parents. Got up kinda early to go to the Magrath clinic for my final Hep B shot. (what a way to start the holiday hey?) After that quick stab we went to my parentals where Dan stayed while I went and visited the Doig's. Love that family. :)
We left for Montana only after we raided my parents fridge and pantry. We had no problems crossing through the border so we zipped on down only delayed partly by bad roads. But they really weren't bad by my standards.. just by the Texas driver in front of us.. I mean really... It's snow. Nothing to out of the ordinary.. (well maybe a little this winter)
Who needs entertainment when Daniel is in the car??
Got to the cabin and Daniel proceeded to get Stanley the wonderful Honda Civic stuck. Oh well we had a truck and a quad to pull him out. The snow was perfect there. Snowman perfect. (we'll get to that later)
We met my parents at Famous Dave's to devour an "entire chicken". It is that delicious!
We played scrabble and down the river. (we played up the river later).
Saturday. The Snow Day. Oh Yeah!
Remember that perfect snow I was talking about?
Quite A Work Out For Them.
Our Perfect Snowman
As I said. PERFECT snow. weather. weekend. LOVELY! It was nice and warm out. we even played a little on the quad and took it for a spin.
Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of everything. We went down to the lake as in the picture above. And then went crusing and did a drive by. :) haha ya know. Then we went shopping. Oh the haul you can get in the states.
Sunday came way to quickly. We woke up to another foot of snow. haha thats right. You thought we had a lot to begin with down there... oh no.. there was more to come.
This is right outside the door. Yeah can't really open it...
oh yeah. sledding behind the quad. (a few bruises later.)
right after mom single handedly pushed out the quad.
Greg firing the snowballs at us driving. How considerate.
Yes. There was a wipeout. Or two or three or four...or more. :)
Gotta get some snowboarding in of course.. haha I am that skilled.
It was a blast. Makes me wanna go somewhere more often!!! :)
So crossing back through the border I had to pick up something for Greg that was wrapped in a box. I left it in the box and went to the border where the guard ask us the usual questions. Then asked what was in the box. I said "I dunno. It's my step dad's"
Guard " you need to claim it in your cash value."
Me " I did. It was a hundred dollars ish"
Guard " Oh okay. What is it?|
Me " I don't know. My Dad told me but I don't remember. Want us to open it?"
Guard "Yeah lets do that."
So Daniel proceeded to open the box. Once it was open the object was covered in that brown packing paper. The suspense was on.
Guard says..." .... and its a....... hand gun?!?!"
Daniel " I hope not"
opens it and pulls out the volt reader hidden in the box and shows it to the guard.
Guard " oh well thats allowed."
gives us our passports and lets us through. Kinda funny, though you never know if you're suppose to laugh at them when they say that stuff. (I did.)
haha there is our weekend in a nutshell. sorry for the overload.

So we made breakfast. YUMMM!!!
Went to church (obviously in the truck though Dan wanted to take the quad) came backed and cleaned but left time to play in the new powder.

Cinnamon Buns GALORE! :)
We started out using a mixer we have but then realized it was to small. So we went up a size and just used a mixing bowl and I ended up having to knead while Dan added flour and washed dishes. Yeah he's talented I know. :) Then we let the dough rise. We brought the table into the kitchen to use for roll out the dough. Good thing too!
the ENTIRE TABLE! AWESOME!
It was quite fun. Definitely made one big MESS!!!!!
Huge right?
yummmmm!!!
The End.
You know you're jealous!

January's End
Oh January, How fast you went.
I remember someone once telling me that the older you got the faster the years go by. I hate to say it but who ever you are you're right! I mean really. I have been graduated for almost 3 years. I have been married for 7 months. It's like I blinked and life went 4 years into the future. but I wouldn't change a thing. I might have thought that once but now many years of wisdom later (hahahahahahahahaha) I wouldn't. Those circumstances and events make me who I am today!
But really? we're 2 months into 2012? who saw that coming? I mean wasn't the world suppose to end in 2012? :P Yeah right. I still have so much to do and accomplish that I have no time for the world to end.
I need to finish school
Get Daniel into the RCMP
Get me a job
Get a house/nice car
Start my own family.
Really my list can go on and on.( and it does) With each ending of the month I think "here's to a new month of trying better, being better, learning more, be kinder, and achieving all the goals I have.
So January has ended:
Bring on the 4 weeks left of school! Bring on the 5 weeks of Practicum! Bring on the new trials and frustrating life events! Bring on February! and Every other Day, Week, Month, and Year. Yeah it's never too easy (face it that'd be boring) But it sure is fun to look back and see how far you've come and grown!
