Birthday Surprise!

My first birthday with Daniel he was working up here in Lloyd and I was down south.
The next birthday we worked and then we went camping with friends.

So I guess this year he decided he had to make up for the lack of birthday celebrating or something the last two years. This year he planned a surprise and kept it a secret until the night before when he let it slip.

He took me to Waterton and we stayed in the Water Lakes Lodge Resort. My parents kept Sean for the night. They took him on his first camping trip.
We left July 4 around two. Got to Waterton and checked in the hotel. We wandered around the town until I decided I was hungry then we went and ate at the Bayside Inn. It was delicious. We sat outside even and had a wonderful view. So relaxing.

Then we decided to drive up to Red Rock and look around. That's where the fun started. We saw some cars pulled over and so we stopped and they pointed out a bear up the hill a ways there happened to be a cub running around as well (1, 2). We drove on some more and another car was stopped, so we did. The bear had just disappeared behind the hill. We kept going on some more and I was watching the Hill and I just happened to catch a bear wandering around so we stopped and watched. Good thing too because two little cubs came running out of the trees (3, 4, 5). It was pretty exciting. Daniel wanted to run up the hill and look closer. Crazy man.

We made it to Red Rock with out seeing any  more bears. We thought 5 was plenty. On our way down we passed a car and the guy was waving his hand out the window. I thought he was in trouble but he was telling us to slow down. There just happened to be a bear on the road! It came so close to our car we could have touched him. We stayed watching him until he ran off the road and into the trees (6). Then we stopped one last time as cars were pulled over to see another bear wandering the hills (7). So glad I wasn't camping!

We got back to our hotel and just chilled. In the jacuzzi tub!!! Love hotels with those! :) They are the best! On the 5th (my bday) we ate breakfast and then went and found our baby. We kinda missed him!

My family was at Payne Lake. They were camping at one of my Grandpa Parker's favorite fishing spots. His B-Day was on July 6th. We hung out there for the day and visited with cousins and Aunts and Uncles. We even taught the Parker's a new game!!! That was kinda amazing. They even liked the game! Saskatchewan Rummy! fun game!
After dinner a storm rolled in and we watched it Hail, and rain. Daniel and I decided to take off. We left and man oh man was that ever a storm! We saw lightening hit a telephone pole! The Hail looked liked ice on the road! It was insane. The hail left snow piles over the road! So it kinda snowed on my b-day!! Never thought that would happen.

It was a fun birthday surprise!

Canada Day

We went down south for Canada Day and spent a week down there. What a long and exhausting week. It'll probably take me a month to recover from all that craziness.

Canada Day started with a morning breakfast at the Fyfe's. Daniel and Gerald cooked it. and the rest of us ate it. Fifteen minutes before the parade we walked down to show Sean off to people. Of course they all commented on his chunkiness. (who wouldn't? It's adorable). We watched the parade with my family and than made it back to Fyfe's to watch again. I sat inside with Sean as he was so done with the heat. We had a BBQ there after. Daniel again was at the BBQ. (he enjoys it. I should get him to cook more at home.) I got to visit with everybody and we finally managed to get Sean down for a nap. So much excitement, he just wanted to see it all. Around 2 we left and joined my family at Wally's for some fun on the Sea do's! That was a blast and a half. We sunscreened Sean and left him in the shade.  no sunburn for my little boy.
After being out for a couple of hours I was tired and not feeling well so we left and went to my parents. By the time we got to my parents I just wanted to sleep. We managed to narrow it down to 2 things. I either had food poisoning (one of my burgers had been slightly pink) or I had heatstroke. Heatstroke won. By the time I woke up next morning I felt 80% better! haha. It was the one year I missed the fireworks. oh well.

**My goal this year was to not get sunburned. I WON! no sunburn for me this year! **

six weeks

Oh me oh my!

my baby is six weeks old!
and he's 13lbs 13oz. He is also 24 inches long.
He is one long and chunky little boy! I love watching those rolls get chunkier everyday!

We had our 6 weeks appointment today. He is doing awesome! Dr. Naude asked me what I was feeding this child. The nurse and him thought he was a formula baby (apparently those ones chunk up faster). But he is all breast fed! haha my little chunker! :)

I am also doing well. I get to start weening off the blood pressure meds! :)

Happy Happy Day! :)

We also blessed him on Sunday. Daniel's parents and my parents came up and his brother and family. we had quite the party going on. I almost went crazy from all the noise. But we all survived. We had a wonderful BBQ potluck after. We were going to do it at our place but the weather didn't really want to cooperate so we did it at Erin and Curtis's house. (Daniel's cousins) It was a full house! Lots and fun and even more noise. Thanks again to them for lending their house to us!

OH and he totally slept 8 hours the other night. :) Love my little chunker!

Father's Day

How lucky for all you that read my blog! You get two posts in one day! This one just happens to be about Fathers.

Let's start up with my Dad.

I wish I had a better picture that could truly show you our relationship. But even a picture couldn't do it justice. He has taught me so much : How to do the dishes properly, that snow does need to be shoveled and lawns mowed (that's what kids are for), how to play cards and win (hold back some of the rules until it benefits you to let everyone else know about them), how to drive and spin donuts, what a suitcase looks like., or a turkey over a log. See he's taught me a lot in the 10 years he has been in my life.
But really what else is a father for but to teach you the value of work and how to have fun? He's the best I couldn't ask for better! Sean has a lot to look up to, to be like his grandpa!

Next up this man:
Daniel's Dad. taught him all he knows. Daniel is always telling me about his Dad and how he would keep him in line. He's taught Daniel everything he knows. Taught him to work and never quit and to be respectful to women. Daniel looks up to him a lot and says he can't wait to raise our children and be just like his Dad.

And finally:
Daniel

His very first Father's Day! He has loved every minute of it. Especially the fact he got the Father's Day treat in church this year! He is a wonderful Daddy. Always wants to hold him and cuddle him. Doesn't so much like diaper duty but who does? Sean is very lucky to have such a wonderful Dad. And to have such wonderful Grandpa's who have taught his Dad.
Sean has some very wonderful men in his life who will help him to grow and be a wonderful man himself! He's one lucky guy!
And I am one lucky woman to have such wonderful men in my life!
Look at those buddies! They are going to be the best of Friends!

Happy Father's Day!

One Month

So I guess I have become your typical blogging Mom because my little baby just hit one month and here I am blogging about it!
How lucky I am to have such a sweet healthy little boy in my life. One month has flown by. Most of it due to the two weeks I was in the hospital. I love being at home with him and just hanging out. Taking naps together, not eating a hot meal but that's how it goes I believe.
Anyway updates on him:
-Last we checked he was 11lbs. But I am pretty sure he's close to 13 or higher with the way he eats.
-He is still sleeping 5-6 hours at night. (which I believe is helping me recover pretty quick too)
-He has this adorable double chin and these real chunky cheeks
-He can hold his head up for 5 mins
-He loves looking out the window and facing the world.
-He loves to be cuddled to sleep (we'll  have fun with that later)
-He can possibly out burp and out fart Daniel
-We are just about done with size 1 diapers. He's just staying in them until we're out of them which should be sometime this week and then we'll attack the size 2 in the closet!
-He smiles a lot. Real smiles. Not gas bubbles.

We honestly have the best little boy ever! Daniel says he's scared to have #2 because he knows we can't get this lucky twice.
Look at those muscles!

Look at that smile!

Such a happy boy!

This and That

I am so amazed at how fast time is flying by.
My little boy is almost a month old. (friday)
Everyday I just look at him and can't believe that he actually started inside me, and then grew and I pushed him out. The math at his size right now just doesn't add up.
Babies are just such little miracles. Always heard that. Now I actually know why they say that. It's amazing. I love my lil chunker. He is honestly the best baby. I attribute that to a blessing from above. With all the health issues I had after having him Heavenly Father knew I needed sleep to recover. So he gave me a baby that on average sleeps 5 hours at night, and a baby that has such a calm personality. We've rarely heard him cry at the top of his lungs. He's just a squawker. (it's cute).
He already has Daddy wrapped around his finger. I love seeing my two boys together. It's so sweet. Words don't even accurately describe it. I love being outnumbered by my boys.
look at those cheeks! and double chin. LOVE IT!

So strong!!!!!

loves his blankets near his face. he'll pull them there right under his nose or around his eyes.

I should blog a little about the baby shower they had for me here too! It was AWESOME!
monster theme. LOVED IT!

Lots of good decorations. :)
So I put a good outfit on him for the event!
Perfect outfit and blanket! :)
Lots of people came. Everyone got a chance to hold Sean I believe. Some were even skilled enough to put him to sleep. He's pretty cuddly. And luckily he didn't blow his diaper out on anyone. (that can make a mess!) We played some sweet games. And there was awesome food! Always a party with food! He got quite a load of gifts! No double ups of anything I had. And all stuff that we can use! He even got clothes for when he gets bigger! Which is perfect cause 0-3 he's got a lot of.
It was such a fun night! (only raised my BP a little. Just enough to scare people there. Don't worry i took my meds and all was well. :) ) It was an awesome night! Thanks again to everyone who planned it and to everyone who came!
