Saturday shooting fun!

With all this lovely spring weather we've been having Daniel has been itching to get the tent trailer looked at and ready for when we actually go camping. Mostly just to take a look at our fridge because it stopped working at the end of last camping season. The snow we got put a damper on that but we decided to still go get it done anyway.

So we ran out to my grandparents farm and there turned out to be a lot of my cousins there as well and my kids cousins. Turned into quite a party!

Part of the plan was to do some skeet shooting too. And that we did even with all the littles running around. They did pretty good at listening and staying back. It was a super fun time and pretty spontaneous.

< 3 weeks!

Am I even ready to handle 3 boys?

Honestly no. But I was never ready for 1 or 2. But hey I figured it out and I'm sure the same will happen when this little man joins our family is less than 3 weeks.

Part of me is so excited. I can't wait to hold him for the first time right on my chest. See his beautiful eyes, nose, ears, mouth, hands and toes.

That's what's getting me through the thoughts of all the pain that comes before I get the sweet pleasure of holding him.

Babies are so sweet. And I love that I have been blessed to have 3. My heart is so full. These boys truly are going to be the best of friends growing up. It warms my heart to watch Sean and Max play so well and know they will be joined by another brother equally as loved.

Bittersweet feelings as I watch Max learn and grow and realize his days as "the baby" are ending. He's already sleeping in a big boy bed, walking, trying to eat with a fork and spoon. He's going to be such a great big brother.

Sean is already a great older brother and he's going to be even better as he gets another sibling to teach and corrupt. He's so loving and thoughtful for a two year old.

I'm already feeling nostalgic of my family of four. It's days are numbered. But hey 5 has always been my favourite number. Bring it on. :)

Hobbies

I've been asked a bit since moving here to Lethbridge what some of my hobbies are.

It's honestly kinda perplexes me. Hobby? What is that?
I took the time to look up the definition. Here's what I found: "an activity done regularly in ones leisure time for pleasure"

Simple enough right?

Well, add two almost three children. Haha what Leisure time?

Sleep counts for a hobby right?

But really what hobbies do I have? I know before kids and at the start of married life I had a lot of hobbies.
-reading
-baking
-running, biking, hiking, outdoor fun!
-going on walks
-sewing
-crafting (learning anything new.)
-playing games with friends
-playing the piano
-photography.

Now that I have just about three little boys to take care of I don't have much leisure time.

I have thought about this a lot though. What hobbies do I have now?
I come to the same conclusion. I still love everything I listed above. I just include  my kids.
My boys love books. Sean loves to help me bake. Max will clean up what I drop on the floor. The boys LOVE being outside. Sean is always asking to go to the park. They would probably never come inside if they didn't get hungry or cold. They both have to jump in when I start playing the piano. I love seeing Sean sit there and "play" the boat song and sing along.

So really while I sometimes feel like I don't have any hobbies and I'm turning into a frumpy housewife I just need to remember I still have hobbies they just include my boys now.

I guess you could say my family is my hobby now. I love doing things with my boys and teaching them new things.

(I still love my alone time too.)

So next time someone asks. Hopefully I'll be able to answer the question better than... I dunno..
 That's the goal.

Walking Boy!

Max is now entering my favourite stage!

Walking! Crazy I know but I just love the little zombie walk and the lack of balance! And his face! He is so proud of himself!!!

He's been walking across and with furniture for a couple months now. Even holding people's hands but rarely could you convince him to walk between two people. It just wasn't interesting enough for him I guess.

So last week when he starting venturing out into the unknown by taking 2-3 steps on his own (when no one was looking) I knew it was coming! Luckily I managed to catch the best video ever! Walking from the stove to dishwasher! A good 6-8 steps! And ever since then he's pretty good at 6-8 and more!!!

Growing so fast. But I have hopes I won't
have to carry him when I have this baby!
Go Max!

Family Day/Follow Up

I am just a little behind! I haven't posted about Family day!

We did our annual trip to waterton but didn't make it sledding because Waterton failed to have snow. Seriously! NO SNOW! Super windy as always but oh well. Dan and I took a drive to let Max nap and we found snow up by Cameron which I guess we all coulda gone and found a new sledding spot. but old traditions are hard to let up!

We got our usual camp kitchen and ate food to our hearts content. Seriously. And then we bought some cards and played games! Max was a little bit of a bear because he was so tired. Sean had so much fun though playing/running with all his cousins!

Tycy and her family even made it up for the party! We woulda partied with them more after Waterton but we had to get home and get the boys ready for bed and such because I had an early day Tuesday taking the boys to Calgary!

Tuesday we left bright and early for Calgary. Luckily Sean was fine. So his throw up was just too much fun and crap food the day before! Dan and I really didn't do a good job monitoring what he was shoving in his face.

Calgary was good. Max's appointment was quick and easy and we found all is healing perfectly in his little mouth! YAY! he is a strong little guy and fought back pretty well and almost did let Dr. Fraulin see in his mouth. haha

After his appointment we met up with the Swendsens for lunch! It was fun seeing how big their boys are and meeting their sweet little girl for the first time. Sean thought she was "so cute". I miss them and all our other friends in Lloydminster! we gotta get up there for a visit!

Max's 1st Party

Well now that we've had his birthday party I have to say officially my baby is now one. Bittersweet day. I love my babies and I love them growing up. But turning one is basically a toddler. I have two toddlers. But a baby soon coming. So I guess that makes it all better... bahahaha

We had Max's party a week later than his birthday just because on the Saturday after his birthday he still was on food restrictions and had arm braces still and it just wouldn't be fair not to eat your own cake at your own birthday party!

We had invited everyone to come swimming with us before hand but nobody wanted to. Their loss. Sean was sad his cousins didn't show up but the boys still had fun swimming. Though they need to spice up their pools just a little. I miss Lloyd for its beach front entrance, epic waterslide and wave pool! oh well.

It worked out nicely because we got home from swimming and had enough time to lay Max down for a nap before everyone was due to show up.

Sean was more excited than Max to see everyone showing up. All his "fwriends" haha He thought it was his birthday party! Didn't even bother him when we said it was Max's birthday.

We had some food (pulled pork) its becoming our tradition for family get togethers. Easy and yummy.

Opened some presents. Max sure is a loved/spoiled little boy. My parents got him a car that screeches and drives forward when you pull it back. He LOVES it. He's seriously put some miles on it. Sean loves the old macdonald book the Fyfe grandparents got for Max. Max likes it too. The two of them sit there pressing the musical button over and over. The also both love the train set we got for Max. and of course some of his Aunties got him some clothes! haha He's going to look so stylish!

Then of course we had to have cake and icecream. And I went crazy with cake again. surprise surprise. But it's fun and I love it! Max totally annihilated his cake. So sweet.

Sean didn't get to help Max blow out his candle but Ty sure got in there. Stinker

It was a super fun evening celebrating out sweet little boy! I sure do love him.

The Cakes:
I only took pictures on my phone of them. LAME but they turned out cute!!
