Magrath Days!

Oh how I love my town celebrations!

I convinced Daniel that we needed to go down for them this year. Just for the Lawn Mower races. (we'll get to those!) So I won and we went down!

We got to my parents house Thursday at 5:30. Right in time for dinner. Yum Yum.
And of course right away we had to start playing games! Night one of little sleep!

Friday we ate breakfast and tinkered around the house until we decided it was time to got sea doing. :) what a beautiful day for it!
modelling swim suit #1
#2 a little small for him
doing some swimming of his own. Didn't mind the warm pool too much
Friday night we proceeded to play more games. Oh so fun. and another night of no sleep. (thank heavens for a baby that sleeps!)

Saturday we got up and went to the pancake breakfast. yum yum. Then I took a snooze on the couch until 10:45 when we walked 2 blocks up and watched the parade. Sean again slept through most of it but he woke up in time for the fire trucks and such. haha.
The BBQ at my parents after was a huge success as always! lots of family and new babies and friends to visit with. And of course excellent food!

Now the Lawn mower races! They were EXCELLENT! How red neck are those? haha people who spend months working on lawn mowers to make them worthy of racing. haha love it! So much fun to watch and cheer on! (i'll try to upload the video)

Then we hung around a found some friends to catch up with and some yummy shaved ice to eat with some mini doughnuts! Delicious! We waited around for the free beef on a bun dinner and then the town talent show that happens after. Beef on a bun was good. The Talent show they changed to a hee haw program and they were 45 mins late starting. I was tired and so was Sean so we bailed and went back to my parents house. And soon after most people were back and we played more games but made sure to end earlier. (the hee haw program wasn't all that hee hawing ness)

Went to church Sunday half asleep. haha oh all the late nights. My parents fridge decided to die on them so we gorged ourselves on food. we had 3 dinners and snacks in between. :) (that might have just been me too....) Played some more games and watch the rain storm and the awesome double rainbow!

It was a lovely weekend and Sean had a blast being cuddled and loved on by everyone! And now more pictures!

Just bragging about my boy! :)

Walked into superstore to get some nose drops for my baby boy and the pharmacist comments on what an extremely handsome boy he is. Then she asks me his age. I don't think 2 months is what she was thinking I'd say due to her eyes bugging out of her head. haha. She was thinking I'd say 6. SURPRISE!

oh. . . And I got his actual weight and length and all that.
He is 15lbs 11oz (just about time to pack up the 0-3 outfits. how sad is that? he's not even 3 months!)
23 1/8 inches. (they were way off at birth. which makes me kind of disappointed not knowing his actual length at birth. We're guessing 21 or 21.5.)

He got his immunizations on the 16th. He's been such a trooper. just a snotty nose, slimy eye, and wanting to be held and cuddle a lot more than usual. I don't mind at all! He's still pretty happy! yay for that!

Wish us luck! We are planning on going camping this weekend! :)

2 Months!

Man oh man. Where is time going? It's hard to believe that two months ago I was being tortured trying to get my baby into this world and now here it is two months later. Time is flying by. I'm loving every minute of it though! Nothing I can do to slow it down so I just love every moment.

So what if my house isn't perfectly clean any more?
I'd rather be getting baby giggles and grins  out of Sean.

So what if I will never wear unstained and non spit up clothes again?
I love holding my baby.

And I'm sure I'll forever smell of baby spit up.

It's all part of being a Mom. I'm loving every second of it.

I'm so grateful for my lil chunk!

Speaking of lil chunk. He really isn't so little anymore:
He's 16 lbs.
wearing size 2 diapers (but about thinking he's done with them)
moving out of 0-3 clothes. I find more that don't fit him than that do.
focusing even more on Dan and I and anything near his face.
We can get some good smiles from him and the occasional laugh.
He's just a happy boy.
Might have something to do with the 8-10 hours he sleeps a night.

Must be why Momma and Daddy are so happy too! :)

so strong!

look at those rolls!

happy 2 months my lil boy!

Birthday Surprise!

My first birthday with Daniel he was working up here in Lloyd and I was down south.
The next birthday we worked and then we went camping with friends.

So I guess this year he decided he had to make up for the lack of birthday celebrating or something the last two years. This year he planned a surprise and kept it a secret until the night before when he let it slip.

He took me to Waterton and we stayed in the Water Lakes Lodge Resort. My parents kept Sean for the night. They took him on his first camping trip.
We left July 4 around two. Got to Waterton and checked in the hotel. We wandered around the town until I decided I was hungry then we went and ate at the Bayside Inn. It was delicious. We sat outside even and had a wonderful view. So relaxing.

Then we decided to drive up to Red Rock and look around. That's where the fun started. We saw some cars pulled over and so we stopped and they pointed out a bear up the hill a ways there happened to be a cub running around as well (1, 2). We drove on some more and another car was stopped, so we did. The bear had just disappeared behind the hill. We kept going on some more and I was watching the Hill and I just happened to catch a bear wandering around so we stopped and watched. Good thing too because two little cubs came running out of the trees (3, 4, 5). It was pretty exciting. Daniel wanted to run up the hill and look closer. Crazy man.

We made it to Red Rock with out seeing any  more bears. We thought 5 was plenty. On our way down we passed a car and the guy was waving his hand out the window. I thought he was in trouble but he was telling us to slow down. There just happened to be a bear on the road! It came so close to our car we could have touched him. We stayed watching him until he ran off the road and into the trees (6). Then we stopped one last time as cars were pulled over to see another bear wandering the hills (7). So glad I wasn't camping!

We got back to our hotel and just chilled. In the jacuzzi tub!!! Love hotels with those! :) They are the best! On the 5th (my bday) we ate breakfast and then went and found our baby. We kinda missed him!

My family was at Payne Lake. They were camping at one of my Grandpa Parker's favorite fishing spots. His B-Day was on July 6th. We hung out there for the day and visited with cousins and Aunts and Uncles. We even taught the Parker's a new game!!! That was kinda amazing. They even liked the game! Saskatchewan Rummy! fun game!
After dinner a storm rolled in and we watched it Hail, and rain. Daniel and I decided to take off. We left and man oh man was that ever a storm! We saw lightening hit a telephone pole! The Hail looked liked ice on the road! It was insane. The hail left snow piles over the road! So it kinda snowed on my b-day!! Never thought that would happen.

It was a fun birthday surprise!

Canada Day

We went down south for Canada Day and spent a week down there. What a long and exhausting week. It'll probably take me a month to recover from all that craziness.

Canada Day started with a morning breakfast at the Fyfe's. Daniel and Gerald cooked it. and the rest of us ate it. Fifteen minutes before the parade we walked down to show Sean off to people. Of course they all commented on his chunkiness. (who wouldn't? It's adorable). We watched the parade with my family and than made it back to Fyfe's to watch again. I sat inside with Sean as he was so done with the heat. We had a BBQ there after. Daniel again was at the BBQ. (he enjoys it. I should get him to cook more at home.) I got to visit with everybody and we finally managed to get Sean down for a nap. So much excitement, he just wanted to see it all. Around 2 we left and joined my family at Wally's for some fun on the Sea do's! That was a blast and a half. We sunscreened Sean and left him in the shade.  no sunburn for my little boy.
After being out for a couple of hours I was tired and not feeling well so we left and went to my parents. By the time we got to my parents I just wanted to sleep. We managed to narrow it down to 2 things. I either had food poisoning (one of my burgers had been slightly pink) or I had heatstroke. Heatstroke won. By the time I woke up next morning I felt 80% better! haha. It was the one year I missed the fireworks. oh well.

**My goal this year was to not get sunburned. I WON! no sunburn for me this year! **
