5 months

Yup.
My baby is 5 months.
He gets cuter and cuter every month.

  • still sleeping 12 hours at night
  • started him on rice cereal. he loves it
  • super happy guy.
  • moved him into his bigger car seat not quite a fan of it yet but he's getting there
  • loves going on walks and sitting out so he can see the world
  • just a couple ounces shy of 20 lbs. weight is definitely slowing down but he's starting to lengthen thats for sure
  • 6-9 month clothes for the most part. there is the odd 12 month clothes that he can fit.
  • can sit up all by himself!
  • has rolled over a couple times but nothing consistent yet.
  • loves to babble away
I love this little monster of mine! he's the sweetest!

Mornings

I just have to say, I got a pretty good baby.
He sleeps 12 hours and when he wakes up he hardly ever cries.
He more talks and coos until I come in and then he's all smiles.
It's been that way since the day he was born.
I love waking up to his pudgy little face and knowing I get to kiss on it all day.
I love the little faces he makes.
Most say he looks like Daniel.
I agree.
Some say he has my facial expressions.
Well. . .
It might be just a tad bit true.
I'm proud to say he makes these faces on a regular basis.
We had a fun morning with my camera.
He loves that thing.
I Love my chubby baby boy!

Thelma and Sophie

Well it's time to write another blog post about. . . . . . . . .
our cars.
Some days I think we have the worst/best luck with them.

Well here is the latest story on Thelma (2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue)
Thelma has been revving high, taking time with starting, and randomly shutting off on you while driving! (just to name a few). Dan was constantly telling me how we needed to get a new vehicle. Me, being the cheap one just said oh it's fine keep driving it or let someone hit it. We're not getting a new one until it's dead. (I forgot to knock on wood with that one). So let's go to September 27 we were on our way home from helping some friends out driving Thelma. It's a very rare occurrence when we use that as the family car. So driving Thelma and this truck in front of us is being an idiot and can't decide what lane he is going to be in. He finally makes up his mind and Dan goes to pass him. Idiot decides to switch lanes without shoulder checking or signally or anything remotely legal and acceptable to do. It was all slow motion from there. Dan thinking about what to do; let him hit the driver side of the car and scratch and smash it to get it written off OR brake and hope he misses us. My thought was YES this car is toast and we'll all be fine! Dan's was the more responsible one. . . Indie and Sean are in the car.
Dan braked. Idiot missed us. No write off for Thelma. Everyone okay.

October 1
I went into Vermilion to take Dan out for lunch. We had a lovely visit and as usual the car came up about how it keeps getting worse. It'll be fine! (my thoughts. . . yet again forgot to knock on wood) I kissed him and Sean and I headed home. I got a call just after 5 with Dan saying Thelma wouldn't start. Wouldn't even turn over. AS IF!!!! So he brought a work truck home and we started browsing Kijiji. Got Thelma towed to a shop they checked it out. . we decided not worth our time to fix.
Found an amazing deal on Kijiji for a 2004 Chevy Optra with 140,000 on it. Not bad hey? So Every one meet Sophie. Dan's new cute little Car.
When people ask what the car is I always wanna say Optimus Prime for some reason. .
More manly name for a car but
it's just so little and cute!

It's really super nice. and was a sweet cheap deal for us with nothing to fix. Yet again we got lucky finding someone who just wanted to get rid of a vehicle. We're doing something right to be so blessed!
Here's to hoping this car lasts a good long time! :)

4 month shots

Oh I hate this day.
He's so happy all the time that I feel bad when I take him in and he screams and cries. But at least he's going to be a healthy baby and child. I'm pretty sure he was more upset his time because he was tired and hungry.
I never tire of all the comments people give me about how chunky he is and how healthy he looks! :)
The stats:
Height 25.5 inches long  75percentile
Head 44cm.   97 percentile
Weight 18 lbs 15 oz    97 percentile
I'm sure I am what's holding him back in the height department. :) sorry bud!
He's stayed in the same percentile for everything that he was at two months.  Love him!!!

Four Month!

How can you not love this face? You just can't. He's adorable. :)
Four months!
It's insane! But we are loving every minute of it!
-He loves his exersaucer (thanks Graz!)
-Loves trees and staring at them
-Going on walks! (what will we do in the winter!)
-Has become quite a chatterbox. well at home anyway.
-Still sleeps all night long!
-has rolled over a couple of times now but nothing consistent.
-can sit up by himself for half a minute. can sit up for quite a while resting on his gut. . he doesn't like that though
-anything he can get with his hands goes promptly into the mouth. It's cute cause his still trying to figure out that coordination and will bash his nose or eyes.
-weighs 19lbs (give or take a couple of ounces!)
-can rotate almost in a complete circle when on his tummy.
-his back he can scoot quite a ways as well. When he realizes what he can do I'm toast.
That's my "little" 4 month old. Oh I love him to pieces. He's such a happy little man and so easy going. honestly the perfect child. :)

Keep growing little dude!

loves the swings!

this is the face we get when we wait to long to put him to bed. so cute!

working on sitting up by himself!

he's a keeper!

The Last Little Bit of Summer!

Well Summer has come to its close. Kids are back to school, trees are turning and the air is turning crisp.
But before we get to that tragic stuff I'll get to the fun stuff.
Friday August 20 we loaded up and headed out to go camping. We hadn't really booked any site or anything and I was kinda waffling on the whole idea with the fact we hadn't booked anything. So we took off and after checking out Dillberry and seeing it was full we went to Arm Lake where we had gone camping earlier this summer.
It was a nice weekend. It only rained on us the first night and Sean slept right threw it. Love my boy.
Next morning we went golfing and swimming and had a fire and played some games It was just relaxing. Sunday we packed up and headed back because I had a interview and meeting to get back for.
Sunday night we invited friends over and had a bonfire in our sweet awesome pit we made. It was loads of fun.
Monday we had our annual Branch Chili cook off. There were tons of Awesome Chili's. Our's almost won. . . they picked 4 and our's was #5. So close right? :P  They had a slip'n'slide, bounce house, kiddie pool, and games. It was awesome. I got out and about and played Ultimate Frisbee for the first time in 3 years. It was so much fun. I gotta do it again sometime soon it was so much fun. After we went over to Isackson's and had some pizza.

It was a good long weekend all together. It was a good way to wrap up summer!
Camping with Daddy!
He had his own chair for camping. He kinda loved it.
Walked him right to sleep!
Swimming with Daddy!
This boy loves his water!

Swimming just wore him right out!
I still do take pictures of us occasionally!
Daddy let him drive!!!!
Bonfire Party!
Sean's Ladies at the Chili cook off
Sadie got jealous and moved in closer.
What can I say my boy's a stud! :)
I guess all I have to say now is bring on Fall's Adventures!
