Summer Catch Up!

I can't believe we are halfway through August! Where has this Summer gone? We have done so much and been so busy I have neglected posting on all that we are doing. So hopefully I can get caught up! Stay tuned it might be a few posts!

What happened first?
Let's start with June since I ended last after Sean's B-day.

May 27- Willowcreek Wilderness Run
This is the race I got my mom to sign up for with me! haha It was so fun! Greg was sad he didn't sign up with us! It was such a hot day though for a Race. I'm pretty sure we didn't start until 9:00. So it was very warm! The race started and I was the first female for the good first half of the race. and then... my shoe came untied. Talk about bad timing. As I stopped to tie it two woman passed me and I wasn't able to get into my running grove fast enough to catch up with them. GRRR.....

But I still finished in 28:00mins and was the 3rd female and 6th place overall. Fantastic if you ask me. haha Next year....

June 10- Ladie's Fest!

I ran in the 8km Ladies Fest Run here in Lethbridge! I convinced Phoenix to run with me. We ran the whole race together and I even found one of my running buddies in the race and was able to stay near here in the run and run Whoop up with her. It sounds weird but that was a really good part of the race. I was in such a groove and was able to keep my momentum up the hill by walking one light post and sprinting one light post. It was great. Towards the top of Whoop up is where I lost Phoenix and my friend though. I don't know what happened to them.. lol. Once you get to the top though its just less than 1km to the finishe line and man did I just start picking up speed! I was so glad to have made it! Such a runners High! I finished in 45:52 which is AMAZING! I wanted to finished between 45/50 mins. And I Crushed it! :) 118/696 overall placing and in my category I was 21/94.

and my cousin Janae Ran too!!!! :) WAHOO

Fathers Day weekend we went camping to Kimball River with my Parents and Dan's Parents. Amie and Micheal showed up at one point. Tanner and Erica also spent the weekend camping with us! They came up all the way from Utah for that!  It was a fun time. A little chilly and the river was high and fast so the boys were disappointed in not being able to swim but they still through rocks to their hearts content and played at the playground!

The Fathers playing a Fathers Day game of bocci ball! After we saved the white ball from Amie's crazy throw straight down a gopher hole. How on earth!

June also had the last of Sean's Soccer days for the year. Our First trip to Wally's and many other Fun times! Take a look

We Made it to the Calgary ZOO! The boys were enthralled with everything! I swear the Zoo just keeps getting more fun every year!

Aiden came to play!

The Soccer team! WE took this and then it started POURING!

These boys LOVE bathtime!
 Wally's Beach!

Sean's Birthday #4

I still am in shock that my oldest child is 4. But I also had this weird feeling the other day when I watched a Mom as she was talking to her son (who is 15/16) and He towered over his mom and I couldn't help but think thats going to be me one day. My boys are going to be taller than me. Sooner than I realize I'm sure.

Back to Sean's birthday.

This kid was super excited to turn 4. Heck even just to have a birthday. He couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to be 4 or 5. Good thing it wasn't really a choice. For some reason this kid just wants to grow up so fast.

He's been asking me for months to make him a Paw Patrol cake. So we looked at a lot of pictures and he found one he liked and then the day before his birthday he decided he just wanted a Marshall cake. That made decorating a bit easier for me. A lot more simple.

He picked the friends he wanted to come over too. Though we did have to narrow it down because this kid knows EVERYONE is his friend. And I didn't feel like having a million people over. But I love that he makes so many friends and is so kind.

So we had a handful of close friends come and a few couldn't make it. (Graz he was pretty bummed haha)

The first time someone knocked on the door he was so happy and ran up and opened the door and said It's my birthday! THen they handed him a present and his eyes got huge and all excited. WE stacked the presents on the piano. When one friend came in he couldn't noticeably see a present so he out right asked them Did you bring me a present? He was just way to excited. haha I love it.

We let the friends just play downstairs and outside for a while and then we smashed Chase the pinata. They played some more and we opened presents which I think Sean was the most excited for. That kid got so spoiled with some pretty great toys. His Nerf sniper rifle I think being his favorite. Max loves it too.

We let them have some Marshall cake. Which the inside was a red cake as per his request. I didn't get a picture of that. oh well. Sean loved it and after all his friends left told me it was the best birthday Ever!

Easter 2017

Easter was such a Marvelous week this year! Sean actually understanding and knowing what Easter is all about. It brought such joy to this week. Love it. And I felt I actually had to bring on my mom game for Easter eggs and some fun stuff to do!

It was a laid back week.
Dan had the Saturday off so we colored eggs. Pretty positive this was our first time coloring eggs. The boys loved it!

And then of course you have to roll the eggs down the hill after. This may have been the best part for our boys. haha
Easter Sunday. They got some goodies. I think they were most excited for their Chocolate Easter Bunnies and Giant Coloring books

Evan loves this squeeker toy I found.
Sean kindly took this picture of a small BBQ we had at my parents.
Then Monday we colored some more eggs and rolled them down the fishpond here. BLAST!

I love these Easter traditions we are now just starting with our boys. Sean and Max sure enjoyed it.
We also made sure to teach them that we don't celebrate the Easter Bunny. That's not what Easter is about. But rather that Jesus Christ atoned and died for you and me and most importantly He LIVES.

What a beautiful message.
